House Rules
We have a few rules which we would like to let you know about. We know rules are boring, but we would really appreciate if you could have a quick read.
Number of Guests
Ensure total guests matches that on your booking. The property must not be used by more than the number of guests booked and paid for on your reservation, either visiting or staying at the property, without written approval.If you have more guests than what you have booked for, you will not be covered under Airbnb Insurance. This is bad for everyone!
No Children
We have lovingly designed this for couples in mind - please don’t try and sneak your children in.No Parties
We don’t want to be party poopers (well maybe we do) under NO circumstances are parties or events allowed at Kestrels Nest (we wont hesitate to call the police)- this is just a quiet space for our guests only.Please show respect for our property.
Food and drink is to be kept to the dining table, kitchen island and the bench seat at the window or the back deck. Please leave Kestrels Nest as you found it - any theft or malicious damage will be reported to the local police, no matter how big or small.Please Clean Up Dishes
If you use any dishes during your stay, we would be grateful if you would clean them.Check Out is 10am
Our cleaner will arrive shortly after 10am to clean the property. We can’t stop her, she is a cleaning machine.Use of the Septic System
We use a septic system here so its really important no food debris goes down the drain. All food debris including egg shells, coffee grounds, cooking oils etc, need to be thrown in the bin. And just in case you had the urge, no bleach or antibacterial prodcuts are to to be poured down the drain either.We understand that it’s tempting to flush nearly anything down the toilet— out of sight, out of mind, however we can’t stress enough our septic system wont cope. So please no sanitary items, wipes, q-tips or cotton balls, tissues, medication - basically only flush toilet paper and there wont be an issue.
Should you incur a problem with a blocked drain, there is a plunger in the laundry draw under the sink - use this but please let us know if this happens. This rule is super important, so follow it wisely, if a service call is required for a blocked drain you will be charged for the cost of the repair.
Lights & Air Conditioner
We would really appreciate if you could turn off all lights and air conditioners if you leave the house, and on check out.
Clean the BBQ after use
There is nothing better than a BBQ, and we would love you to use the one provided, however we do ask that when you are finished you give it a good clean, ensure all the knobs are in the off position, and the gas bottle is turned off. If the BBQ isn’t cleaned after use, we will have to charge you an additional cleaning fee.No Smoking
This is a non-smoking property. If you are craving a smoke, please go for a walk and dispose of your butt appropriately. No fires (including candles) are to be lit in or around the property at any time (except of course the one in the living room).Keep the doors closed at night
Whilst we love our friendly wildlife mates, please ensure you keep doors closed when possible, and we do ask doors and windows are closed at night to avoid any ‘unwanted guests’.Do not feed any wildlife
You may get a visit from some kangaroos at dusk, please be respectful of these animals and give them their space. Remember they are a wild bunch and can kick if threatened. Please do not feed any of the wildlife on the property.Use of towels
How nice are our bath and hand towels? We have purposefully selected the softest, whitest, seriously most amazing towels for your drying pleasure - we want to keep them that way, so please don’t take the bath towels to the beach - we have provided some beach towels for you instead. And please don’t use them for make up removal - we have provided wipes on the bathroom benches for this.We don’t mean to be harsh but if you use our white towels inappropriately and we cant remove the stains you will be charged a replacement fee. Our towels thank you for your understanding.
Lost Keys $30 will be charged for lost or damaged keys. If replacing the locks is required guests will be charged the full invoice.
